EGYPT

Egypt

Egypt is an African country located in north-east of the continent, sitting where the Mediterranean and Red Seas almost meet at the Sinai Peninsula. Famed as the homeland of one of the oldest cohesive empires in history, Egypt is a location that Lara Croft has visited several times in her career, in Tomb Raider and its remake, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, and in other Tomb Raider works such as Comics. Egypt is the third Tomb Raider Series location visited by the player in Tomb Raider and is again the main set for Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, where only two levels of that game are not set in Egypt.

Egypt in Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: Anniversary

Egypt is first seen in the first game of the Tomb Raider Series. Having collected two pieces of the Atlantean Scion, one from the Tomb of Qualopec, Peru and the other from the Tomb of Tihocan somewhere in Mediterranean Europe, Lara sets out to explore the lost temple-city of Khamoon, in a hidden canyon presumably located near the Red Sea, after finding out where the final piece of the Scion rests. Egypt encapsulates three levels:

Being a re-make of the original Tomb Raider game, Anniversary includes the levels of Khamoon, except that the 'City' is renamed the 'Temple' of Khamoon.

Egypt in The Last Revelation

Almost all of the gameplay of The Last Revelation takes place in Egypt (33 out of 35 levels). The levels are organised into various sub-groups focusing on the areas in and around:
